HOW MUCH IS THE FDW LEVY SINGAPORE?

The FDW levy is a pricing mechanism that regulates the number of foreign workers in Singapore

As of January 2025, the Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) levy rates in Singapore are: 
  • Normal (1st helper)$300 per month, or $9.87 per day
  • Normal (subsequent helpers)$450 per month, or $14.80 per day
  • Concessionary$60 per month, or $1.98 per day

FDW Levy Concession

Singaporeans may qualify for a concessionary FDW levy in Singapore if they live with an eligible Singaporean. Eligible Singaporeans include: young children under 16 years old, elderly individuals at least 67 years old, and people with disabilities who are permanently unable to perform at least one Activity of Daily Living (ADL). Additionally, spouses, parents, or grandparents of Singapore citizens may also be eligible for the FDW levy concession in Singapore.

Paying the levy 

 
  • Employers must pay the levy using the General Interbank Recurring Order (GIRO)
  • For first-time maids, the levy starts on the 5th day of the maid’s arrival
  • For other maids, the levy starts the next day
